I mainly got this for Lead Acid LiFePO4 Batteries - for the 48V, 8kW back up system I have for the well and refrigerator.This is equally good for STD (standard lead-acid battery) and AGM (the high-tech companion that absorbs the electrolyte in a glass mat). For any 12V Battery this is the BEST CHARGER you can find.I have an old STD car battery that after 7 years got too weak to start the car. It was completely dead but instead of trading it in for $5, I flushed out the old sulfuric acid, cleaned it out twice with baking soda and water until it was super clean, then filled it with new sulfuric acid. It is now the backup for my basement lights with only 10.7V.This Damaged Weak Battery served as the ultimate test for this charger as it states: 'It efficiently repairs and revives 80% of damaged, stratified, and sulfated lead-acid batteries - restoring its lost capacity'. I began with STD Repair Mode - above the 10.7V you can see a picture of the 'repair mode'. Once the repair was done - at 12.7V it switched to the standard STD Mode and is now fully charging the repaired battery.When it comes to Battery Chargers the most important aspects are TRICKLE and PULSE. It needs to disulfate in order to keep it in new condition and charge it correctly. This Charger does it all and with 9 Modes you can't possibly go wrong.I usually recycle every box when packages arrive, but this is packaged with such outstanding protection I will always put this back in the box.The setup and operation easy: Set up the battery using either the clamps or the terminals (it supplies both methods) - Plug in the Charger and 'Select the Mode' - Do this FIRST - then join them together.I have 3 Different Chargers - An 8A that goes through the various stages of repairing and charging - A more Advanced Intelligent Charger that also goes through various stages - and now THIS CHARGER. This one did a better job repairing the old STD Battery than the others and is the only one designed for Lead Acid LiFePO4 Batteries.Everything about this has far exceeded my expectations. I am thrilled and highly recommend it.Hours later the charger is now running at 80% to 100% at 14.1V. I gave it the worse battery, and it has done an amazing job. Looks like this 12V Battery is going to work like new!

I have two battery chargers. One is a Li-PO4 battery portable emergency unit. The other an old Sears plug-in charger. I was curious about this small DC House battery charger for trickle charging a 12V lead acid marine battery I use for camping and maintaining an auto battery that is not often used.Compared to the Sears charger this new unit is small and compact. It also provides more charging features and details about charge state than that older analog unit. It functions as I would expect for those trickle charge functions, increasing charge over time, and providing accurate charge state. It is missing a ��jump-start�� feature, which for a run-down battery you have to wait a little while for the battery to come up in charge before attempting an engine start.The battery revival feature is one I wish I had before I recycled an older discharged battery that would no longer accept any charge. That would be a great test, but one I could not perform. Lots of features and a good value, but missing a desired jump-start mode. 4/5

I got this charger to use in a second vehicle that does not get driver that often and there have been time when I would go to use it only to find that the battery was dead. One function of this charger is the ability to trickle or maintain a charge on a battery over a long period of time, which is exactly what I needed. Its a 12v 15 amp charger capable of supporting standard lead acid, AGM and certain Lithium Ion batteries. When you first connect the charger to the battery it (before plugging it in to the AC) it will display the current charge and amp level. A single button on the top of the charger allows you to switch between the supported battery types. Once connected to AC power the display shows the battery type, the the level of charging in 10% steps and the output amps of the charger. The display stays lite for about 20 sec and then goes out. The charger is quite, no fans, so when the display goes out there is nothing that indicates anything is happening. This is the first complain I have with this device. It would be nice to have some sort of continuous indication that the charger is actually working. You have press the button on the charger to re-activate the screen to get that assurance. The second issue I have is because there is no fan in the unit, it get rather hot. The bottom measured 117 F and the top 110 F. I think a fan would help keep the temp down and probably help prolong the life of the electronics. My battery was about 60% charged when I put the charger on it originally and it took about 30-40 hours to reach 100%. After charging reach 100% the temp dropped down to normal. Now the charger should only kick in once the voltage drops, and the charging cycles should be very short. The package includes the charger, an easy to read instruction manual, the clamp type battery connectors and a connector that you can wire permanently to your battery for quick connects and disconnect for longer term battery maintenance. Overall I like this charger and feel its a good value for the money. I would not buy this type charger if you are looking for a quick charge, you will need a larger more beefy unit for that, but for trickle type charging and battery maintenance/repair this make a a good choice. With a few enhancements, like a cooling fan and always on charging indicators I feel this would be just about perfect.

I need a new battery charger and this one was nice and small so storing it is a breeze. I also liked all the features because I have many different batteries to charge from cars to generator batteries to solar etc. it seems to work well and it can detect what kind of battery to give a proper charge. Decent value for the money considering I been using a noco to top off all the ones I need. These new smart chargers use sophisticated algorithms to optimize the charging capacity. I like automatic voltage detection and the reverse polarity protection. As far as the unit itself the 4 stars is because the actually screen is bubbling (even with the film off) therefore I don��t know how long it��ll last or burn out. It has definitely had corners cut in quality of the display.
